Mike Hynes will be back in red and white for the upcoming season, returning to the Deer Lake Red Wings for what will be his fifth year with the club.
The Norris Point native has developed into one of the more complete players in the senior hockey ranks, contributing offensively while also bringing experience, versatility and a strong two-way presence to the lineup.
During the 2025–26 regular season, Hynes recorded eight goals and nine assists for 17 points in just eight games, averaging 2.13 points per game. He also scored three power-play goals.
His production continued into the CWSHL playoffs, where he added four goals and six assists for 10 points in eight games, including one shorthanded goal.
Hynes also played an important role during the Red Wings’ Herder run, appearing in five games and recording two goals and four assists for six points. One of those goals came in overtime, giving him an OT winner during the championship series.
